Our client is a well established major manufacturing and engineering organisation that is now expanding its activities to meet the growing demand for its products. The company produces high quality pumps and valves for the Water, Oil & Gas sectors. There is now an immediate requirement for this key position.
The QA Manager will be responsible for all quality standards and the implementation of a quality management to comply with international standards of ISO 9002, BSI, API, ASME and MSS.
The QA Manager will cover quality inspection as well quality assurance activities within all manufacturing divisions including ferrous and non ferrous foundries, machine shop, assembly lines and fabrication. The appointment will have direct responsibility for approximately 20 quality engineers and inspectors.
The role will include establishing, implementing and certification of the company’s safety and environmental quality manuals and procedures in accordance with ISO18000 and ISO14000.
The successful candidate should be a certified lead auditor in accordance with ISO9000/2008 as this enable the building up and training of the ‘in house’ team of internal auditors.
It will be advantageous if candidates have knowledge and experience in PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), NDT testing, SPC (Statistical Process Control) and green or black belt six sigma.
Candidates who have quality management experience in a manufacturing environment especially foundries and CNC machining centres will also be of interest.
Candidates must have an analytical approach to all problem solving and must be intuitive and observant in all quality related matters.
It is essential to have had experience as a QA Manager in an engineering company producing high quality components within the Oil and Gas Industries and especially for the pump and valve markets.
