Our client is a very progressive Engineering Company in Saudi Arabia that has an excellent machine shop with a wide range of CNC machine tools and other production facilities including modern ferrous and non ferrous foundries. The company produce high quality machined components such as pumps and valves for the oil and water industries to exacting world class standards.
Applicants must have had a career in the foundry industry leading to several years experience in stainless steel and bronze alloys, methods of sand castings preferably no bake sand moulding with pump and valves components weighing between 1-200 kg. It will therefore be essential to have a full understanding of all production methods relating to castings and to be aware of the problems relating particularly in foundry producing quality iron and non ferrous castings.
There must also be evidence of an excellent knowledge of foundry casting technology, the application of castings and with the ability to introduce better production methods and techniques.
The role can be based upon either a permanent (or possibly on an interim role basis) and will be subject to individual candidate’s experience. Working closely with operatives and reporting directly to the Operations Manager there will opportunity to influence and instigate the latest and modern foundry manufacturing processes.
The role will require a much disciplined approach to tackling problems and be analytical in methodology. Candidates must be ‘hands on’ and practical in their approach.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate proven skills & knowledge to utilise foundry solidification simulation software, ideally Magma, but also Novacast, SolidCast, ProCast would also be considered. Candidates educated in Metallurgy, Metals Technology, Materials Science or a similar discipline together with a level of knowledge and experience related to molten metal production together with experience and evidence of a strong man management skills background would be considered.
