Our client is a well-established foundry who specialise in medium to high volume castings across many metal types including Grey Iron, Ductile Iron (SG Iron), Malleable Iron and Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI). They have a strong foundry brand and are market leaders in the production of complex multi-cored, thin section castings.
There is a now the opportunity for an experienced Technical Manager to be responsible for the control and management of the technical function of all foundry operations and for ensuring that all available resources are used efficiently to meet technical and quality standards.
Other responsibilities will include the examination and implementation of any changes to ensure improved pattern making process, reduction in scrap levels, fettling procedures, castings quality and in production cycle times.
It is essential that the successful candidate has had a planned career in production and/or technical roles in an iron foundry and that this experience will include such matters as waste reduction, process control and process optimisation.
Qualified candidates must therefore have a strong technical capability and to deal with the metal requirements of the appointment not only in the foundry but also in dealing with customer requirements.
