For some time now, one of de Belder Associates’ clients in Sydney, Australia has been asking Philip de Belder to come and have a chat and a beer or two while they discuss their foundry recruitment requirements.  Using their extensive industry experience and international connections, de Belder Associates has previously sourced senior staff and skilled engineers for this large organisation, so Philip is now making plans to fly down under, discuss future requirements with his client and enjoy a few ‘cold tinnies’.  While he’s down there, Philip also plans to pop over to New Zealand to meet a client company in Christchurch.

Istanbul is famously noted as the place where Asia and Europe meet, so it was fitting that one of de Belder Associates’ Chinese clients suggested that it would be the perfect location for them to meet up with Philip de Belder when he visits the Turkcast 2010 trade fair in mid November.

The Chinese company had previously asked Philip to find them a senior sales manager to head up their expansion plans in Turkey and it just so happened that de Belder Associates Ltd had the perfect candidate already on their books.  The meeting in Istanbul will be the ideal opportunity for all parties to meet and agree on the next stage of the recruitment process.

Although there was no time for sightseeing on Philip de Belder’s recent trip to Johannesburg and Cape Town, there was plenty for him to look at.

Philip had been invited to visit by a client of many years standing and it proved to be an excellent opportunity to re-establish contact, while at the same time they were able to review their recruitment requirements and discuss how de Belder Associates Ltd would be able to help them with their future plans.

There was a double incentive for Philip de Belder’s recent visit to Munich.  One was to take in a major exhibition and meet a few old acquaintances as well as some new contacts; but the other and far more important aspect of the trip was a meeting that had been arranged with a senior Egyptian metals industry executive who had requested that they should get together.  The objective was to discuss how de Belder Associates Ltd could help them fill foundry vacancies, plus a number of important managerial positions within their Middle East foundry and steel mills.

This was a new contact for de Belder Associates and interestingly the Egyptian company had found them via this website.

While in Düsseldorf to attend the Aluminium 2010 exhibition Philip de Belder was able to introduce de Belder Associates Ltd to a number of major organisations who were interested in the company’s specialist metals industry recruitment expertise, especially regarding any foundry vacancy they may have.  Part of the reason for the visit was to keep abreast of the latest developments in the aluminium foundry industry, but more importantly it was to interview candidates who had asked de Belder Associates to prospect senior management positions for them in the foundry industry.  With Philip’s global connections, it could open up a world of opportunity.

Philip de Belder recently travelled to Arnhem in the Netherlands to meet the magazine publishers of ‘Castings & Forgings News’ and ‘Valve World’.  Philip has written several expert recruitment articles for these publications in the past and the magazine’s editorial team hope that he will continue to contribute interesting and informative articles on this specialist subject, based on de Belder Associates’ long-standing experience and global knowledge of recruiting for foundry jobs.

In the middle of November Philip de Belder travelled to Maastricht, the Netherlands, to attend the 7th Biennial Stainless Steel World Conference and Expo.  Despite the challenging business climate, the show proved to be the largest to date, attracting 250 conference delegates, 245 exhibiting companies and over 4500 visitors.
