The New Zealand based company employs 280 people in all aspects of waterjet design, manufacture and distribution, exporting 98% of production through both direct and distributor sales channels.
An exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced multi-disciplined Maintenance Manager who will be responsible for providing support and guidance to the Maintenance department and bring a coordinated approach to Engineering Maintenance across the company’s’ operations. A key task will be to improve the service provided by the department by moving forward away from reactive to proactive maintenance.
This position presents a challenging opportunity for the right person to manage all maintenance aspects of a manufacturing unit within a heavy engineering environment and introduce / improve PPM schedules for all key equipment.
We seek applicants with time served multi-skills in engineering disciplines, experience of control maintenance spends within agreed budgets while maintaining and improving equipment uptime.
This will require a strong people manager who will ensure the effective leadership across multi-shift teams, maintaining a focus on internal customer delivery. A hands on and pragmatic style is considered essential in this business. A relevant technical qualification is also desirable. You should therefore possess a minimum qualification of a HND in a relevant discipline, a good understanding of 14001 and 18001 standards. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques and an understanding of Health & Safety issues.

- experience with installation of new capital equipment and new product introduction
- highly organised and good computer skills
- knowledge and use of equipment performance measures
- good team player and communicator – will work closely and collaboratively with the production management team
- must have a can do attitude (when things go wrong this person is Mr Fix It)
- will need to flexible with hours of work to address any issues on three shifts

The annual base salary level will be paid on a monthly basis and will be in the range of NZ$90,000.
